In the Orenburg region, a dump truck driver is awaiting trial for a fatal collision with a road worker. The man faces up to five years in prison, according to the regional prosecutor’s office.
It was established that from 3 to 4 September 2020, road works were carried out on the section of the R-239 Kazan – Orenburg – Akbulak – border with the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the morning, a 62-year-old dump truck driver, blinded by the headlights, ran over one of the workers, who was installing a cord in the asphalt-laying area. The victim died on the spot, says IA “Ural56.Ru”.
A criminal case was initiated against the truck driver under Part 2 of Art. 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Violation of safety rules during work, resulting in the death of a person by negligence.”
Investigation completed. The materials were transferred to the Sol-Iletsk District Court for consideration on the merits. The accused faces up to five years in prison.
Earlier on December 29, an accident was reported on the 688th km of the Kazan-Orenburg-Akbulak-border of the Republic of Kazakhstan highway. A person died, another was injured.
