The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) fired less frequently at Russian positions in the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) during the day, while increasing the number of attacks on civilians. This was announced on Friday, April 14, by Lieutenant Colonel of the People’s Militia (NM) of the LPR, retired Andrey Marochko.
“Over the past day, there has been a decrease in the intensity of shelling by the armed formations of Ukraine on the positions of our military. At the same time, the enemy has sharply increased the intensity of shelling of the front-line settlements of the LPR,” Marochko told TASS.
According to him, the decrease in the intensity of UAF strikes on the positions of the Russian Federation can be caused both by unfavorable weather conditions and by the saving of ammunition by the Ukrainian side.
Earlier on the same day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired 14 rockets from the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) at the settlements of Rubizhnoye and Troitskoye in the LPR. On the eve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at a hospital in the city of Svatovo in the LPR from the MLRS HIMARS.
On April 8, the former LPR ambassador in Moscow, Rodion Miroshnik, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had attacked residential areas of the city of Kremennaya. About 10 arrivals were recorded. There is damage to residential multi-storey buildings, burnt cars and buildings. There were no reports of casualties.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
