Desk. In the early hours of Saturday, suddenly the earth shook from Uttarakhand to UP. The intensity of the earthquake that occurred in Nepal at 3:59:03 am was 4.8 magnitude. Earthquake tremors were felt in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Many people came out of their homes during the earthquake in Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Champawat, Almora and Udham Singh Nagar districts.
According to the Indian National Center for Seismology, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 km from the earth near Sunthrali Airport Kotbada in northern Nepal, 342 km from Haridwar. The epicenter of the earthquake was 146 km away from Champawat. Earlier on December 19 also, an earthquake of 4.3 magnitude had occurred in Nepal. Champawat resident Nirmala said that the tremors of the earthquake that occurred early on Saturday were felt for five to seven seconds.
Bikram Singh, Director of Uttarakhand Meteorological Center, said that the impact of the earthquake extended to Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Sitapur, Balrampur, Ayodhya, Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. According to the local administration, there is no information about any damage in Uttarakhand.
