Earthquake tremors have been felt once again in Delhi-NCR. Its intensity was recorded at 5.8. People felt the tremors at 4.16 pm on Monday evening. The epicenter of the earthquake was once again Nepal. Earlier, on November 4 at 11:32 pm, an earthquake of 6.4 magnitude had hit Nepal, in which 157 people died.
The effect of the earthquake was also seen in India. Apart from Delhi-NCR, tremors were felt in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Bihar capital Patna. However, there was no loss of life or property in India.
Kathmandu had slipped by 10 feet due to the earthquake in 2015.
In 2015, an earthquake of 7.8 magnitude caused huge devastation in Nepal. During this period, about 9 thousand people were killed. This earthquake also spoiled the geography of the country. Tectonic expert James Jackson of the University of Cambridge said that after the earthquake, the land beneath Kathmandu shifted three meters i.e. about 10 feet towards the south. However, there is no sign of any change in the geography of Everest, the world’s largest mountain peak. This earthquake in Nepal was as powerful as 20 big nuclear bombs.
Why do earthquakes occur?
Our earth’s surface is mainly made up of 7 big and many small tectonic plates. These plates keep floating continuously and sometimes collide with each other. Many times, due to collision, the corners of the plates bend and when there is too much pressure, these plates start breaking. In such a situation, the energy released from below finds a way out and after this disturbance an earthquake occurs.

Expert’s claim – Crack in Aravalli mountain range has become active, earthquakes will keep coming
According to Dr. Rajendra Singh Rathod, an expert in geography, there is a fault line (rift) in the east of the Aravalli mountain range. This fault line passes through the eastern coast of Rajasthan and reaches Dharamshala. This includes Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur areas of Rajasthan.
Experts say that movement has started in the cracks in the Aravali mountains. Now such earthquake tremors will continue to hit Jaipur and other adjoining areas also. Jaipur falls in Zone-2 and Western Rajasthan in Zone-3. There are normal earthquake shocks in this.
