Today, Sunday, the Egyptian Minister of Supply, Ali Al-Moselhi, announced the supply of local wheat for the 2023 season for the benefit of the Supply Commodities Authority.
The Ministry of Supply said in a statement that it had limited the marketing of local wheat to the Egyptian Holding Company for Silos, the General Company for Silos, and mill companies affiliated to the Holding Company for Food Industries and the Egyptian Agricultural Bank.
According to the statement, the ministry prohibited the transfer of local wheat resulting from the 2023 harvest season from one place to another without the approval of the Supply Directorate. It also prohibited the use of local wheat as fish feed or its entry into animal feed.
She stated that the price of ardab, with a purity of 23.5, is 1500 pounds, and a degree of purity of 23 is 1475 pounds, while the price of a degree of purity of 22.5 is about 1450 pounds.
Ali Al-Moselhi said that owners of private sector mills and producers of free flour must provide their needs for imported wheat.
