New Delhi. The automotive electric 2-wheelers (e2W) market is set to grow by over 300 percent (year-on-year) in the calendar year 2022. This information has been given in a report. By 2025, the share of both e2W and connected 2-wheelers (e2W) will cross 50 per cent.
According to the ‘India Electric 2 Wheelers (e2W) Report’ by Cybermedia Research (CMR), the share of C2W grew by over 20 per cent last year and the high-speed electric vehicles market grew by 90 per cent.
John Martin, Senior Analyst, Smart Mobility Practice at CMR, said, “In calendar year 2022, the momentum towards electric mobility with connected features is increasing. Supply-side trends are pointing to support this market momentum , the automotive e2W market is growing at a CAGR of 171 percent.”
The touchscreen technology market in two-wheelers accounts for about 1 percent of the total two-wheeler market.
Touchscreen technology has expanded into the premium e2W segment (Rs 1,00,000 price segment) through Ather 450X, Hero Vida, Ola S1 Pro and TVS iQube ST e-scooters, which have an average screen size of 7 inches.
Ola Electric led the Indian e2W market with a share of around 18 per cent in calendar year 2022, followed by Okinawa Autotech with 17 per cent and Hero Electric with 16 per cent share.
Hero Electric grew by almost 109 percent during the calendar year 2022. The Optima CX was the most sought after model from Hero Electric.
Ampere Energy grew approximately 538 percent year-over-year. Ather Energy projects 222 per cent year-on-year growth in calendar year 2022.(IANS)
