Today, Doncaster Racecourse in Britain hosts the summit of the President of the State Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses, in its seventh stop on the agenda of the Cup races in its 31st edition.
The racing series is held with the support and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, to develop the Arabian horse racing industry and support Arabian horse owners and breeders in all countries of the world, based on the UAE’s constant keenness to preserve the Arabian horse’s journey, as it is an authentic legacy of the UAE’s national heritage.
The British station will witness the participation of an elite group of promising colts and fillies in the future world of Arabian horse racing, and future champions who represent the best Arabian horse stables in challenging the strong, in the final summit of the Arab-English Derby, for the title of His Highness the President of the State Cup for Arabian Horses, within the first category for a distance of 2000 meters, for colts and fillies aged 4 years and above.
The list of participating horses includes a distinguished group, including “Al Zowair” (TM Fred Texas x Zenobi), owned and bred by Al Shaqab Racing, trained by John de Meul and ridden by Olivier Dondeni; “Extra Time” owned by Jay Nevins, trained by David Morrison and ridden by Taj O’Shea; “Lucille” (Mahmas x Diamanda), owned by Al Shaqab Racing, trained by Francois Roho and ridden by Ortiz Mendzabal; “Malfat” (Al Murtajaz x Jezabel Des Forges), owned and bred by Mohammed bin Fahad Al Attiyah, trained by Francois Roho and ridden by Lucas Delozier; and the filly “Ameera Al Zaman”, owned by Al Nujaifi Racing, trained by James Owen and ridden by Marco Gianni.
