Elon Musk, who has been critical of artificial intelligence of late, appears to be planning to infiltrate the industry with his own company, according to reports from the Wall Street Journal and Financial Times.
It was reported that Musk established a new artificial intelligence company called X.AI Corp, based on a government file from last month seen by the sources, which confirmed that Musk was listed as the “sole director” of the company established in the US state of Nevada. , while the name “Jared Birchall”, the director of his family’s offices, was placed as a secretary.
It is known that Elon Musk prefers the letter “X”, and he recently renamed “Twitter Corp”, to “X Corp”.
And Musk is no stranger to AI projects. He co-founded OpenAI before leaving the company nearly a decade ago. After ChatGPT’s rapid rise in popularity, Musk called for regulation of the technology and signed an open letter urging technology leaders to stop developing it for six months.
While details remain scarce, previous reports have cited evidence of how Musk’s AI efforts are progressing. He hired two former DeepMind researchers in March, including scientist Igor Babushkin, who he believes is leading the new project.
Reportedly, Musk also bought 10,000 GPUs to develop artificial intelligence at one of Twitter’s data centers.
In addition, according to The Times, he is already in talks with Tesla and SpaceX investors to invest money in his new venture.
