UAE boats, represented by the “Victory”, “Faz Marine” and “Fujairah” teams, are participating in the Eastern Grand Prix Powerboat Championship “X-CAT”, the fourth and semi-final round of the 2024 World Championship, which begins today in the city of Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. It lasts four days, with the participation of 10 international teams.
The day before yesterday, the Victory Team delegation, representing the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, arrived in the city of Al-Khobar, where the delegation included the Director of Victory Administration, Ahmed Ali Al-Sumaiti, and the two captains of the “Victory 7” boat, the racers Salem Al-Adidi and Issa Al Ali, in addition to The technical crew, which will supervise the preparation and follow-up of the boat in the stages of the world tour.
The Eastern Round is crucial for the leading teams seeking to strengthen their position before reaching the final stop on the beaches of Dubai, where the fifth round competitions will take place from 13 to 15 December next.
Today, the registration procedures for the teams will be held, the teams’ headquarters and boat workshops will be prepared, and then technical experiments will be conducted on the boats.
The competitions will begin tomorrow with the first main race, which will be preceded by qualifying for the best time to determine the starting points, while the day after tomorrow the boats will compete in the speed race, and the world tour will conclude on Saturday with the second main race.
