Al Hamriyah Club plans to create an Emirati Olympic champion who will compete in swimming races, and qualify him to reach the 2028 Olympic Games, according to a long-term plan, benefiting from the talent and passion of promising swimmer Hamad Yousef Al Shehhi, his artistic capabilities and the achievements he achieved during his recent international participations.
Hamid Hassan Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Hamriyah Club, told Emirates Today: “The club has adopted a special program to provide the best types of support so that Al Shehhi continues his upward performance, in cooperation with the Sharjah Sports Council and the Emirates Swimming Federation.”
He explained: “The talented swimmer has high technical capabilities, as he is 185 centimeters tall, which is an ideal height for swimming. He also has a high mentality, which qualifies him to become a distinguished swimmer in the future. The ultimate goal is to represent the UAE remarkably in the 2028 Olympics.”
Al Shamsi praised the support and follow-up that swimmer Al Shehhi received from his father, which helped the club strengthen its efforts to develop him, as well as the technical director of swimming at Al Hamriyah Club, Ahmed Jamal Al Din, who supervises his training on a regular basis. He continued: “Based on the recommendations of the club’s technical committee, the gifted program of the Sharjah Sports Council for the gifted, and the fruitful cooperation with the Swimming Federation, we have adopted a special plan to support swimmer Al Shehhi to continue his excellence and become one of the international swimmers who win international medals for the UAE in the near future, and our goal is for him to reach the 2028 Olympics.” And excellence in all the tournaments in which he participates.”
