The International Ski Federation is not ruling out having to move or even cancel the World Cup next season due to the energy crisis. Today at the Nordicum Forum in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, Michel Fillon, Secretary General of the International Ski Federation, admitted that they had no Plan B on the issue.
Fillon noted that the International Ski Federation is aware of the problems with snow formation and nighttime events at a time when the public and companies are being asked to save water and energy. Fillon explained that some of the World Cup competitions can be moved to another place within a short period of time, expressing his hope that the energy crisis can be dealt with in a satisfactory manner by the International Ski Federation.
