New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Aam Aadmi Party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to appear before the hearing on November 2 regarding the new liquor policy violation in Delhi. Earlier, the CBI had issued a summons to him a few months ago to appear for investigation in this case.
However, Kejriwal was not named as an accused in the report filed by the CBI in August last year. However, Manish Sisodia, who served as Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, was arrested.
He was said to have played a key role in the scandal. Subsequently, the enforcement department arrested him and interrogated him. He is currently in judicial custody.
The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed Manish Sisodia’s bail plea in connection with the case. In this context, the Enforcement Department has sent a summons to Arvind Kejriwal to appear before the hearing on November 2. BJP and Aam Aadmi Party are expressing their views on this.
