Chelsea have reached an agreement with English coach Graham Potter to replace German Thomas Tuchel, who was suddenly dismissed, according to several English media outlets, including The Sun newspaper. The new owners of the London club (Todd Boley’s American group) agreed to pay the penalty clause in the contract linking Potter to Brighton, allowing them to negotiate the 47-year-old coach. Potter has previously coached the Swedish teams Östersund and Swansea City, and the contract is expected to be completed and officially announced before the Chelsea and Fulham match tomorrow.
Potter drew attention because of his attractive attacking style, which allowed Brighton to be fourth after six stages of the start of the new season of the Premier League, just two points behind leaders Arsenal.
