The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, said that the Turkish youth is inclined towards science, technology, research and development, adding that the state is investing all resources in the development of the youth, reports Anadolu.
President Erdoğan delivered a speech at TEKNOFEST, Turkey’s premier technology and aerospace event being held in Ankara.
“The scene we saw at TEKNOFEST shows that we have made a fruitful investment,” Erdoğan said, adding that in today’s era, a person’s value is assessed by his ability and productivity.
“We are making our youth more competitive with national technology events like TEKNOFEST,” he said, noting that Turkish youth are now able to send rockets into space.
The Turkish president said that Turkey now has drones and fighter jets and that the dark times are behind, adding that this year’s TEKNOFEST was planned to be held in three cities to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey.
The event was held in Istanbul in May, welcoming 2.5 million visitors, which is a world record, while it will be held in the city of Izmir on September 27-October 1.
In Ankara, the event started on Wednesday and runs until Sunday, showcasing a wide range of high-end technological innovations. The event features exhibitions, workshops, air shows, competitions and seminars.
TEKNOFEST is organized by the T3 Foundation and the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology since 2018, in cooperation with dozens of ministries, public institutions, private companies and universities.
