Eta. The Waqf Board has given up claim in favor of Shanidev temple in Jalesar of Etah district of UP. Two and a half years ago, after the controversy over donations worth crores to the Waqf Board Committee and illegal sale of land worth crores, an FIR was registered in Jalesar police station against 9 people of the Waqf Board Committee, including the Chairman.
After investigation, the Waqf Board has backed down because in the records of the Waqf Board, this dargah of Chhote Miyan and Bade Miyan of Etah district was not included in that list. All India Waqf Board left this claim in favor of Shani Maharaj. All the Hindu organizations of Etah district have expressed happiness about this. Some people are saying that they should leave it out of fear, while many people are saying that it is a good initiative of the Waqf Board.
The caste of Chhote Mian and Bade Mian of Jalesar of Etah district is famous. Here the Waqf Board has withdrawn its claim from Shani Dev Temple (formerly Dargah). There was a dispute regarding this property about two and a half years ago. A report was filed against 9 people including the chairman of the Dargah Committee and the committee was dissolved. Since then, the appointment of an administrator is going on here.
A complex named Chhote Miyan and Bade Miyan Dargah located in Jalesar village has religious recognition not only in the state but also in other states. People come here from far and wide to perform the caste held on Wednesday and Saturday. For decades, there was a Dargah Committee which was in charge of the offerings. In 2022, the committee was dissolved when a case of embezzlement in offerings was found. Meanwhile, voices were raised that the Dargah temple was captured and built. In this regard, when the premises were excavated, the idols of Hanuman ji and Shani Dev were found buried in the soil. After installing them, worship was started. Recently a survey of Waqf properties was conducted. After this, the name of this Dargah of Jalesar is not in the list released by the Waqf Board.
