The Premier League match between Everton and Newcastle United was postponed on Thursday after the visiting club said it did not have enough players due to Covid-19 cases and injuries.
And Newcastle said in a statement: “Positive results for Covid-19 appeared among a number of players and members of the staff when conducting routine examinations in the past days, while many players were suffering from injuries during a very busy period of matches.”
He added: Accordingly, Newcastle submitted an official request to the Premier League to postpone Thursday’s match at Goodison Park, and the League Council agreed.
