In Lipetsk, on December 23, in the Museum of Folk and Decorative-Applied Arts, the exhibition “New Year in Romanov Style” will start working, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Romanov Toy Center.
The exhibition will feature the best works of the masters of the Center, including those awarded the title of folk. Museum visitors will see not only clay toys, but also objects made of textiles.
According to Lipetskmedia, the museum’s fronts will present the works of Ivan Gunkin, who revived the Romanov toy, as well as traditional toys and works of authorship by the People’s Master of Russia Elena Smoleevskaya.
A special feature of the exhibition will be the unification of ethnographic exhibits and works of masters in one exhibition space. The exposition will be complemented by items of Christmas fortune-telling and festivities, household items.
The center of the Romanov toys was created in 2011 in the village of Troitskoye, Lipetsk region, where the Romanov crafts were previously widespread. Since then, interactive programs, exhibition projects and festivals have been constantly held there.
