Expo City Dubai will host the “Women’s Run”, organised by Plan B Group in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council on November 3rd. The race aims to combine efforts to promote women’s health and well-being, consolidate the values of unity and support sustainability in the region and beyond.
The race annually attracts the participation of more than 5,000 female runners of different nationalities, ages and physical levels, competing in three distances: 10 km, 5 km, and 3 km. Participation is open to all women and girls of all ages, as each race includes two categories: the junior category and the open category. In the 3 km race for juniors, children up to the age of 18 are allowed to participate, and the open category is for those 16 and above. In the 5 km race for juniors up to the age of 18 only, and the open category is for those 19 and above. As for the 10 km race for juniors from the age of 16 to the age of 18, and the open category is for those 19 and above.
Registration remains open until October 26, and the women’s race is supported by many national governmental and private institutions.
The organising committee had previously announced the official jersey for the upcoming race, and revealed the launch of an inspiring anthem for the event for the first time since the start of the race, which will be sung by Emirati artist Ahmed Al Hosani.
The Dubai Sports Council confirmed in a press statement yesterday that “the event will achieve great success and will gain greater value by being held in Al Forsan Park in Expo City Dubai, which has acquired a prestigious global status.”
