Muscat: The Malayalam Mission Sur region has organized an entrance festival and play area to open a new door of knowledge and to hold the children in the path of language and culture and sip the sweetness of Malayalam.
More than 150 children participated in the entrance festival organized at Sur Club on Friday, November 10 from 10 am. A coloring and drawing competition was organized for the children as part of the entrance festival.
Hasbulla Madari, president of Indian Social Club Sur and member of Malayalam Mission Sur region committee, presided over the function where Malayalam Mission Sur region coordinator Ajith welcomed.
Then Malayalam Mission Oman Chairman Ratna Kumar Janardhanan inaugurated the program and spoke. Malayalam Mission Oman Secretary Anu Chandran gave a keynote speech on the importance of teaching the mother tongue and the work of the Kerala government to introduce the Malayalam language and culture to the Malayalis outside Kerala, other states and abroad like no other in India.

Dr. Jitesh Kumar, Member of Sunil Malayalam Mission Working Committee and Head of Indian School Al Gobra Malayalam Section, Sainuddin Koduvalli, Member of Malayalam Mission Oman Chapter Working Committee and Member of Malayalam Mission Sur Regional Committee, Dr. Pradeep, Art and Culture Worker of Sur spoke. Then the gift of the Regional Committee was also presented to the teachers of the Sur Study Centre. Jitesh Master organized various games and activities for the children. Around 400 people including children and parents participated. During the event, contestants from 65 countries participated in the Sugatanjali Global Poetry Singing Competition and the region committee gave a gift to Pallavi Abhilash Nair, who was selected for the grand finale from the Sur region of Oman. Also distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions.
