New Delhi: According to the India Meteorological Department, severe cold will continue in the northwestern states including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. According to the report issued by IMD this morning, today (Jan 9) cold winds will prevail over Punjab, Haryana, UP, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. In this case, school holidays have been extended in these states.
Five recent facts: 1. The Uttar Pradesh government issued a circular last night asking all school students up to class 8 to have a holiday till January 14 due to extreme cold. The students of class 9 to 12 have been instructed to conduct online classes.
