New Delhi . Facebook has started a trial with select creators in the US to support non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on its platform. Navdeep Singh, Product Manager, Meta (formerly Facebook), shared screenshots of NFTs on Facebook late Thursday, saying, “We’re launching NFTs on Facebook! Excited to share what I’m working on with the world.” Am.”
Last month, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that NFTs would be coming to Instagram soon.
Addressing a session at the South by Southwest event, Zuckerberg said that “over the next several months, the ability to bring some of your NFTs, hopefully over time, to be able to adapt things to that environment.”
The CEO of Meta said that, “There’s a bunch of technical things that need to be worked out before it will actually be comfortable to happen.”
“We are working on bringing NFTs to Instagram in the near future,” the meta founder said at an event.
“Similar functionality is coming soon to Facebook, as well as augmented reality NFTs on Instagram Stories via Spark AR so you can place digital art in physical locations,” he previously announced.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri said the team was actively exploring NFTs but did not have further details.
Mosseri said that, a small group of US users will get to display NFTs in their feeds, stories and messages.
Clicking on the tag called Digital Collectibles will display details such as the name of the manufacturer and NFT Honor.
“I want to acknowledge that NFTs and blockchain technologies and Web3 more broadly are about distributing trust, distributing power,” Mosseri said in the video.
