Fahad Al Dhanhani is the best goalkeeper of the first round

Goalkeeper expert and Asian lecturer, Zakaria Al-Awadhi, confirmed that the first round of the ADNOC Professional League witnessed many mistakes by goalkeepers, especially in the match between Ittihad Kalba and Al-Wasl, which witnessed four mistakes by the goalkeepers of both teams. He explained that Bani Yas goalkeeper, Fahad Al-Dhanhani, is the best goalkeeper in the first round, and the national team coach must pay attention to him.

“The round witnessed 27 goals scored, two penalty kicks missed, and only two goalkeepers, Zayed Al Hammadi from Al Wahda and Fahad Al Dhanhani from Bani Yas, managed to keep a clean sheet. The Ittihad Kalba and Al Wasl match witnessed four goals scored, all of which were due to goalkeepers’ mistakes, which may seem strange, but it is common in matches,” Zakaria Al Awadhi told Emarat Al Youm.

Regarding the star of the round at the goalkeeper level, Zakaria Al-Awadhi confirmed that Fahad Al-Dhanhani is one of the most prominent goalkeepers in the Emirates, and continued: “Since the start of the Professional League, Fahad Al-Dhanhani has been considered one of the best goalkeepers, the goalkeeper who appears the most in matches, and one of the distinguished goalkeepers. He is never absent from his team, and he is considered a tough number with Bani Yas in the tournament.”

“The two goals scored by Ittihad Kalba against Al Wasl goalkeeper Khalid Al Senani were the result of poor judgment by the goalkeeper, which is something that happens to any goalkeeper and is not related to lack of readiness. As for Ittihad Kalba goalkeeper Issa Al Hooti, ​​his mistakes were the result of poor positioning and poor reaction, especially since the shots that were directed at his goal were from long distances,” he added. “The round witnessed a distinguished performance by Dibba Al Hisn goalkeeper Suhail Al Mutawa, and despite the four goals scored against him, he was the goalkeeper who saved the most balls, as he saved eight decisive shots. Al Wahda goalkeeper Zayed Al Hammadi also performed well and managed to keep a clean sheet,” he concluded. “It is difficult to judge goalkeepers in the first round, and we must wait for the second and third rounds to judge them correctly.”
