Delhi Police have registered a case against 46 Pakistani Twitter users who were campaigning. Police have found that these Twitter accounts are spreading rumors on various issues in India, especially the Sikh community. All these Twitter accounts were created between October-November 2021. All operating from the same browser. Police have found that the video of the Cabinet Committee meeting held on December 9, 2021 after the death of CDS General Bipin Rawat was morphed and misrepresented through these Twitter accounts. The video was morphed with a fake voice over as if it was speaking against the Sikh community and posted on Twitter. Attempts were made to viralize the fake video through two Twitter accounts, simrankaur0507 and @ eshalkaur1. Other Twitter handles also promoted the video with the same hashtag. Preliminary investigation revealed that all these accounts are maintained from the same browser. Last year, the central government banned 20 YouTube channels and two websites promoting fake news. The government has acknowledged that the YouTube channel, which operates under the name New Pakistan, has 35 lakh subscribers, campaigning against issues such as Kashmir, new agricultural laws and Ayodhya. The government has said that these channels also have 50 crore views.
