Fastag with record toll collection; The daily income has crossed Rs 104 crore

New Delhi: Daily toll collection through Recorded Fastag. The toll collection has reached about Rs 104 crore. This was stated by the National Highways Authority of India. Fast tags have been mandatory at toll plazas since February 16, 2021.

The toll collection in the last one week is more than Rs 100 crore per day. The toll collection through fast tags had touched an all-time high of Rs 103.94 crore yesterday. The smooth implementation of the fast tag has increased electronic toll transactions. On an average, more than 65 lakh transactions are done in a day.

Electronic toll collection increased by 27%. A 20 per cent increase in toll collection through Fastag. The implementation of Fasttag has significantly reduced the waiting time at National Highway toll collection centers.

NAIAI estimates that about 20 million new fast tag users have joined the system in the past two weeks. With this, the total number of fast tag users has crossed 2.8 crore.

There are indications that the steady growth of NH users is also contributing to the sharp rise in fast tag toll collections. The electronic system may help make toll operations more efficient. It may encourage more investors to invest in highway infrastructure development in the country.
