Dubai: Fee hike in schools in Dubai. A 3 percent fee hike was approved for private schools. Permission was granted by Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority. The fee hike will be effective from the next academic year. KHDA officials said in a statement that the fee hike was approved considering the financial situation of the emirate and the running costs of the schools.
The fee for each school is determined based on the rating given in the latest inspection conducted by the Dubai School Inspection Bureau. Schools that do not improve their status in the inspection will not be allowed to increase their fees. Meanwhile, schools with higher ratings can increase their fees by 3 percent.
Parents can choose suitable schools based on the rating and fee structure of the schools. A 4.5 percent increase has been recorded in the number of children compared to the previous academic year. 22 new schools have opened in Dubai in the last 3 years. With this, the number of private schools in Dubai has increased to 216.
