In response to a recent statement by President Dina Boluarte, who assured that with 10 soles it is possible to prepare a complete menu that includes soup, main course and dessert, journalist Fernando Llanos decided to verify the viability of this statement. To do this, the now TikToker visited a local market and documented his experience through a video on social networks, where he shared the results of his culinary experiment.
Fernando Llanos mocks Dina Boluarte’s controversial statements about “10 soles menu”
With a sarcastic and mocking tone, Fernando Llanos acquired the following products on his tour of the market: half a kilo of offal, a quarter of a kilo of lentils, half a kilo of rice, an onion, a tomato and three bananas. These ingredients allowed him to prepare a basic menu, although they did not cover other essential cooking supplies, such as salt, garlic, oil, gas, electricity and water, which the journalist had to provide from his own pantry.
With the purchased ingredients, Fernando Llanos made an offal soup as an appetizer. For the main course, he prepared lentils accompanied by rice and a Creole bramble made with onion and tomato. As for dessert, the journalist opted for something simple: a banana.
The result was a menu that met, in general terms, the description of soup, main course and dessert mentioned by the president. However, Llanos highlighted the limitations of the proposal, pointing out that the 10 soles were not enough to acquire the basic elements necessary for cooking, such as condiments and gas.
Through his video, Fernando Llanos expressed his disapproval in an ironic way, questioning the real possibility of complying with the conditions set by the president. At the end of his post, he added a scathing comment that reflected the difficulties of fitting daily nutrition into such a limited budget: “And for dinner, that’s your problem!”
