Belagavi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released Rs 16,000 crore as the 13th tranche of funds under the Prime Minister’s Financial Assistance Scheme for Farmers.
The Prime Minister’s Financial Assistance Scheme for Farmers, which provides Rs.6,000 per year in 3 installments, was launched in 2019. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the scheme. Under this scheme, more than 8 crore farmers are being given Rs.2000 every 4 months.
The 11th tranche of the scheme was released in May last year and the 12th tranche in October last year. 13th tranche of funds released today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who attended the inauguration ceremony of the Rs 190 crore renovated railway station in Belagavi, Karnataka, released the funds for the farmers while he was there.
Through this Rs. 6,000 crore funds have been released. This fund has reached more than 8 crore farmers. More than 3 crore of them are women farmers. Since the launch of the scheme, Rs 2.25 lakh crore has been disbursed directly into the bank accounts of small, micro and medium farmers. Of this, Rs.53,600 crore has been paid into the bank accounts of women farmers.
