Brazilian Roberto Firmino, captain of Al-Ahly Jeddah, expressed his happiness with the hat-trick he scored against Al-Hazm in the start of the opening round of the Saudi Roshen League on Friday, indicating that he was affected by the reception he received from the fans of the western team.
Firmino scored two goals in the first ten minutes and added the third in the middle of the second half to lead Al-Ahly to a 3-1 victory over Al-Hazm in his official debut with the team he joined this summer from Liverpool.
Firmino said after the match, “The reception I had was wonderful. I shuddered my body. It was very beautiful. We played for them (the fans) and we are happy with the result.”
He said, “It’s great, I’m very happy. I was very excited at the start of the tournament and I’m very happy to score three goals and help my team, who played great and played a great match.”
He added, “We won the match, and we have to take steady steps. This is just the beginning of the tournament, and we hope it will continue in the same way.”
