Officials also informed that the Ministry of Health of Bahrain has taken all precautionary measures based on global standards against monkey pox. The Ministry added that necessary arrangements have been made for reporting and testing of symptomatic cases.
Bahrain is one of the countries that has already adopted preventive measures against monkeypox based on global standards. Medical equipment, systems and testing centers were already prepared for this purpose. Bahrain is also the first Gulf country to start pre-registration of the monkeypox vaccine. As soon as the disease was newly reported, it was found in Gulf countries including Saudi, UAE and Qatar.
