The Airbus A-340 aircraft of the Romanian chartered company Legend Airlines was taken into custody with 303 passengers including Indians. The plane was seized when it landed at Vatry airport in eastern France due to a technical problem. The incident happened on Thursday. The flight was detained following information that the people on board were victims of human trafficking.
The incident took place at Vatry airport in eastern France, 150 km from Paris. After questioning the passengers for two days, they were allowed to fly again.
The Indian Embassy in France got involved in the matter after the news of the seizure of the plane carrying Indians. The embassy informed that the safety of the passengers will be ensured.

The police suspected that those on board were trying to immigrate illegally to the US or Canada via Central America. With this, France is ready for a detailed investigation. The Indian Embassy in France has stated that facilities have been provided at the airport and the welfare of the passengers will be ensured.
Legend Airlines is a small charter airline. The company deals only with the client who has booked the flight. Legend Airlines’ lawyer had earlier stated that they cannot check the background or other information of the passengers.
