The Ministry of Culture is organizing the International Opera Festival, which will be held for the first time in the Kingdom at the Abu Bakr Salem Theater in Riyadh Boulevard from June 18-20, with the participation of international stars.
The festival includes a special opera exhibition containing classical art and associated collectibles such as costumes and the history of opera with its musical instruments, with interactive screens allowing visitors to learn about operatic works, performers and actors around the world.
The exhibition provides an opportunity to listen to old and rare opera music, through designated spaces and places, and to highlight the most important famous opera theaters.
The festival offers many educational workshops that will deal with various topics, the most important of which are: opera singing “a theoretical and practical explanation of the mechanism of making sounds in this art”, introducing the orchestra, the history of musical instruments, the history of opera, and a piano-playing workshop.
