In Irkutsk, a driver of a foreign car knocked down a teenager crossing the road on a zebra. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.
The accident occurred on January 11 on one of the streets of the city. It was previously established that a 28-year-old driver of a Toyota Corolla allowed a collision with a 15-year-old boy who was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing.
The teenager received various injuries. From the scene of the accident he was taken to the hospital, writes news agency IrkutskMedia.
The Regional State Traffic Inspectorate says it is concerned about the increased number of traffic accidents involving children. Since the beginning of 2023, seven accidents have been recorded in the region, in which nine minors were injured. Of these, five were in cars as passengers, four were pedestrians.
On January 10, a truck hit two pedestrians on the Don highway in the Lipetsk region. One person died, the second was taken to the hospital.
