New Delhi

Covshield, a serum institute based in Pune, Maharashtra, was approved by the Pharmaceutical Quality Control Authority of India in early January for the use of corona vaccines by Kavex, manufactured by Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana. This has been followed by corona vaccination across the country since January 16. So far 1.35 crore people have been vaccinated.

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters yesterday:

Leaders and ministers of various countries are vaccinated against corona on a priority basis. Thus he said.
