New Delhi. Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh was cremated with state honors at Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi. Before this, his last journey was taken out from the Congress office to Nigambodh Ghat. A huge crowd gathered during his last journey.
During this journey, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi was also present in the vehicle along with the mortal remains. President Draupadi Murmu, PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh were also present during the funeral of Manmohan Singh. Here all three armies saluted him. After this, the funeral rituals were completed after state honours.
Earlier, the last journey of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh started from the Congress headquarters amid slogans like ‘As long as the sun and moon remain, Manmohan Singh’s name will remain’. Even during the funeral, Manmohan Singh was made to wear his favorite blue turban. To remember Cambridge University, he made one of its colors the signature color of his turban.
Earlier, Dr. Manmohan Singh’s wife Gursharan Kaur paid tribute to the former Prime Minister at the Congress headquarters. During this time, many senior Congress leaders and party workers also paid tribute to him. Officers of the three armies performed the last rites by placing the mortal remains of the former Prime Minister on a vehicle decorated with flowers with full respect.
