On August 21, Russian serviceman Viktor Raidin, released from Ukrainian captivity, said that the security service of Ukraine (SBU) was engaged in extortion.
“He (the SBU officer – ed.) called Telegram, I heard my mother’s voice, I said: “Mom, I’m in captivity, they’ll send you an account number now, contact Danil, my friend, he will tell you what to transfer, if you do not throw off the money, they will kill me. ” That’s how he (the SBU officer. – Ed.) said to say. As he said, so I said, ”RIA Novosti quoted Raidin as saying.
As the soldier noted, after this conversation, his mother called a friend who reported the incident to the police and warned the woman that it was impossible to transfer funds.
According to him, there were cases when relatives transferred money, but nothing changed. The wife of his comrade sent the required amount to Ukrainian extortionists, but he still remains in captivity. At the same time, beatings of prisoners of war are also preserved.
Earlier, on August 17, Raidin said that SBU officers are forcing prisoners of war to record videos with fake confessions. According to him, in addition to interrogations, they were forced to participate in the filming of videos discrediting the Russian army. And one of these videos scored more than 1 million views. If the employee did not like the way the video was recorded, he would beat the prisoners. At the same time, maximum reliability was required, in some cases they did not read from the sheet, but memorized or retold.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24 last year, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
