Several former restaurant workers have been commenting on TikTok that it’s best to never order soup at restaurants. This occurred in the comments section of the video of a user of the platform, named @hallemerck, where warned people not to order soup when eating out at a restaurant.
The girl appears in a video with a caption that reads: “There’s no way you’ve ever worked in food service before if you still order soup at restaurants.”
With this one comment, many former service industry workers began to say that, in effect, you shouldn’t order soup in restaurants because it’s never freshly made.
Some users commented that many businesses tend to use the same soup container for daysso you can never be sure that the soup is freshly prepared.
Also, there were people who said that they use the same dishes to make the soup for weeks without washing them.
It should be noted that there were also people who shared that their restaurants did serve freshly made soup or that they frozen it to preserve it better, but the vast majority agreed that it was best to never eat this dish when eating out.
Other TikTok users said there were other foods that shouldn’t be ordered either, as they sit for a long time without proper storage, such as breads, salads, and dressings.
Previously, some people had raised the alarm about a similar problem occurring with sweet tea. They recommended that it should not be ordered because restaurants often leave it resting for days.
This can cause mold to form at the bottom of the kettle, which could make the drinker sick.
