Four servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), who surrendered to the Russian army, called on their former colleagues to surrender to the Russian Armed Forces. Footage with the appeal of the prisoners appeared at the disposal of Izvestia on Sunday, June 11.
“We, the servicemen of the 115th brigade, made a voluntary decision to surrender to the Russian troops. The decision was made consciously, because of the poor attitude of command. We don’t want to fight the Russians,” they said.
The prisoners of war stressed that they are well kept in captivity and have an excellent attitude towards them.
They also called on the Ukrainian military to make the “right decision” and surrender to the Russian army.
Earlier, on June 10, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) Dmitry Distion, who surrendered to the Russian army, said that the Ukrainian military was tired of military operations.
On May 29, it became known that the Russian military in the area of the village of Belogorovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) captured more than 20 soldiers from the 81st separate airmobile brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On May 27, it was reported that in the Kharkiv region, servicemen of the reconnaissance battalion of the 6th Army of the Western Military District (ZVO) captured two Ukrainian militants.
At the same time, it became known that the fighters of the southern group of troops of the Russian Armed Forces captured two enemy groups near Belogorovka in the Donbass.
On May 12, a source from Izvestiya said that two Ukrainian soldiers voluntarily surrendered in the Zaporozhye direction.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
