Al Ain Stables jockey, the Uruguayan Ferber Brez Francisco, maintained the title of the 100 km private stables race, for the second year in a row, the first race of the His Highness the President of the State Endurance Cup, which was held yesterday, at the Boudib International Endurance Village, with the participation of 208 male and female riders.
Francisco succeeded in maintaining his title on the same horse, “SM Real,” after covering the total distance in 3:39:12 hours, with an average speed of 27.45 km/hour. Argentine Francisco Valverde came in second place on the horse of “Al-Ghani,” for the stables. “SS” with a time of 3:39:25 hours, while the rider, Laila Muhammad Obaid Al Marzouqi, came in third place, riding “Kazam” horseback. A press release stated that the race was strong and fast, especially in the first stage, as the riders sought to take advantage of the cool weather in the early morning and achieve advanced positions that would give them the opportunity to rest their horses during the decisive stages.
The race champion finished in fourth place during the first stage, but he rose to the lead in the second stage, and was able to maintain it until the last stage, despite the strong competition with the runner-up and the third-placed woman, so the champion won the title by 13 seconds from the runner-up.
The race was witnessed and the winners were crowned by the Executive Director of the Emirates Equestrian Federation, Ahmed Al Suwaidi, the Director of the Federation’s Support Services Department, Abdullah Al Naqbi, and the Events Director of the Boudib International Endurance Village, Mohammed Al Junaibi.
The His Highness the President of the State Endurance Cup race for women, for a distance of 100.30 km, will begin at six-thirty this morning, with the participation of an elite group of female riders from various equestrian clubs in the country.
The race includes four stages, the first stage is 30.10 km long in orange, followed by a 50-minute rest period, and the second stage begins in blue and is 30 km long, followed by a 50-minute rest period.
The third stage begins in green and is 20.20 km long, followed by a 40-minute rest period, after which the fourth and final stage begins, which is marked in white and is 20 km long.
Tomorrow, as part of the His Highness the President’s Cup Festival, the Giants Race will be held for a distance of 100 km, while the activities will conclude the day after tomorrow with the main race for a distance of 120 km. These races will be held under the supervision of the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, and the village will witness two qualifying races on Tuesday, the first international. For a distance of 100 km, the second is also international for a distance of 120 km.
