About 250 thousand rubles were stolen from an elderly resident of Orel. On Wednesday, June 8, Infoorel.ru reports with reference to the city Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Zavodskoy district.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”). Three natives of the Vladimir region born in 1962, 1968 and 1989 are suspected of the robbery.
According to investigators, the scammers introduced themselves as employees of the pension service. One of them convinced the victim on the phone that she would soon need to change the old money for new ones, and asked if she had any savings. The pensioner said that she keeps about 250 thousand rubles. Then the intruder warned that her colleague would come to the apartment. Once in the apartment, the fraudster led the woman into the kitchen and distracted her by talking and allegedly copying data. When the visitor left, the pensioner discovered that the savings had been stolen.
Three suspects were detained in hot pursuit. They seized the stolen funds. It was established that while one of the abductors distracted the victim, the second made her way into the apartment and took the money. The third in the entrance monitored the absence of strangers.
Now the women are in custody, an investigation is underway.
Earlier, on June 7, it was reported that fraudsters pretending to be firefighters robbed a pensioner in Vladivostok. The suspects have been identified. They turned out to be two brothers, aged 21 and 24, who came from the Stavropol Territory. Both have already been prosecuted for similar crimes.
