In rural areas, ration kits are delivered directly by the staff to the homes of the customers. In urban areas, prepaid cards worth Rs 1,800 will be issued. Ration kits are also available for customers who are in arrears with the bank. Eligible customers should contact the branch. 15,000 ration kits have already been distributed in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Haryana and Chhattisgarh.

Vaidyanathan, MD and CEO, IDFC First Bank, said, “Employees have come up with such a scheme with the aim of providing as much assistance as possible to the customers who have lost their lives due to the spread of Kovid.” The bank has also launched the Employees Kovid Care Scheme to help the families of bank employees who have lost their lives due to Kovid.

The family of the deceased employee will be paid four times the total fixed salary or Rs. 30 lakhs as group term life, whichever is higher. Salary will continue to be paid in the name of the nominee for two years. The bank also decided to write off all loans to employees. The bank has also decided to provide an advance payment of up to Rs 3 lakh at 24% interest for 24 months to cover unforeseen expenses in case of illness of any member of the bank’s family.
