Kochi: The Kochi Infopark special vaccination camp will begin on Monday as part of the Kovid vaccine scheme for all IT employees and their families in the state. The vaccine is distributed to all employees of the companies operating in Infopark and their families. Infopark is spearheading the second phase of the project, which is being implemented in three urban centers across the state, with the aim of bringing the IT sector back to normalcy, creating safer workplaces and ensuring health care for employees. The first phase of the week-long camp will see the distribution of 6,000 doses. The vaccine is then delivered in different stages as needed. Technopark Employees Cooperative (Tech) Hospital, based at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, has procured two lakh dosage shield vaccines directly from the Pune Serum Institute for IT staff alone. The first batch of 25,000 doses reached Thiruvananthapuram last week. Efforts are in progress to rapidly transform the IT sector in Kerala into a Kovid-free workplace. CEO John M. Thomas said. So far, 8,000 people at Infopark have been vaccinated at vaccination camps conducted by various companies, including TCS, in association with private hospitals. The vaccine will soon be available to all IT employees, with Infopark launching a large-scale vaccination camp for more companies starting Monday. Trans Asia Cyberpark has also vaccinated 3,000 people from various companies. Companies still collaborate with private hospitals to provide vaccines to their employees.
