Arnaud Hermann, a journalist for the famous French newspaper L’Equipe, confirmed that the French Football Federation’s negotiations with coach Hervé Renard, the former coach of the Saudi national team, began weeks ago, while the latter’s resignation from his position was announced on Tuesday evening.
On Tuesday, the Saudi Football Association announced Renard’s resignation, after 4 years in office.
Hermann told “In the Goal”: Negotiations between the two parties began last March, and there was a team assigned to search for a coach for the women’s national team, as it was looking for a coach with a strong personality.
And he continued: It is true that Renard has not coached a women’s national team before, but he has rich experience with the teams of Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Zambia and Ivory Coast.
And he concluded: Hervé does not have strong experiences in France, and his success came with foreign teams, but he has the experience of the World Cup this year, and there is the European Women’s Cup, and the Olympic Games next year in Paris.
