Italian club Fiorentina have signed French midfielder Yacine Adli from local rivals AC Milan on a season-long loan with an option to buy, the Florence club announced.
Media reports indicated that the “Violet” club will pay approximately 13 million euros with add-ons if it decides to take advantage of the clause to obtain the player’s services permanently at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old joined Milan from French club Bordeaux in the summer of 2021 for €8.75 million, and has made 39 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal in a Serie A clash against Roma on January 14, 2024.
Fiorentina seeks to sign Adli to strengthen its ranks under the leadership of its new coach Raffaele Palladino, who succeeded Vincenzo Italiano, who moved to coach Bologna.
Fiorentina have not won in three matches so far this season, drawing 1-1 with promoted Parma and 0-0 with Venezia, in addition to a 3-3 draw with visiting Hungarian Puskas Akademia in the first leg of the play-off round to qualify for the Conference League, in which they finished runners-up in 2023 and 2024.
In addition to Adli, Fiorentina has already signed several players in the current summer transfer market, most notably Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea, striker Moise Kean from Juventus, midfielder Andrea Colpani from Monza, and Croatian defender Marin Pongracic from Lecce.
