The captain of the Egyptian national team in the Paris Olympics and former Arsenal player, Mohamed Elneny, arrived in the Emirates to join his new team, Al Jazira, which had previously announced the signing of the player after the end of his contract with his English club, following the end of his participation with the “Pharaohs” team in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Mohamed Elneny participated with the Egyptian national team in the Summer Olympics, which were recently held in the French capital, Paris, and the veteran midfielder led the “Pharaohs” team to occupy fourth place in the tournament.
The Egyptian player joined Arsenal in January 2016, and continued for more than 8 years, and had a single loan experience in the 2019-2020 season with Besiktas of Turkey.
Al Jazira Club’s official account posted, via the “X” platform, a video of Mohamed Elneny being received by club officials, commenting on it, “The arrival of our new player Mohamed Elneny to the capital, Abu Dhabi.”
Elneny is scheduled to join his new team’s training, led by Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta, in preparation for the new season’s matches.
Al Jazira Club will open its journey in the UAE League on August 24, facing Bani Yas.
Egyptian star Mohamed Elneny began his career with the youth team of Al-Ahly SC before moving to Al-Mokawloon SC, which he played for in the Egyptian league. He then joined FC Basel in Switzerland in 2012.
