On January 12, rock musician and composer Sergei Galanin shared with Izvestia his memories of TV presenter Mikhail Zelensky, who died of a stroke the day before while on holiday in the Dominican Republic.
“Zelensky was a very cheerful, hard-working and very good friend. He was a versatile person, ”said the musician.
Galanin recalled that he met the journalist on one of the TV programs more than 10 years ago, after which they became good friends, “did not lose sight of each other and met at different events.”
“I don’t know the details of death. <...> Still, climate change. As they say, our wishes on New Year’s Eve to leave for warm lands, plus a long flight … Therefore, unpredictable things can happen to the body, unfortunately, ”the musician suggested.
Many of his colleagues and friends expressed their condolences over the death of Zelensky. For example, director and TV presenter David Shneiderov noted that the journalist was an amazing person, and his death “became a tragedy for himself, as well as for the students”.
The head of the Russian Ministry of Culture, Olga Lyubimova, indicated that Zelensky was a man of multifaceted talent and called him “the authority of the journalistic community.”
