Dubai: The UAE has announced the opening hours of its offices to coincide with the new weekend from this year. The service will be available at the GDRFA Dubai Offices on a two – hour basis from 7:30 am to 7 pm, Chief Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri said. The first schedule is from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The second shift is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. However, the GDRFA main office service will be available from 7:30 am to 12 noon on Fridays and then from 2:30 pm to 7 pm, he said. Saturday and Sunday will be weekends for the office. Until last year, the working day in the government sector was five days a week, but this year it will be reduced to four and a half days. The UAE is the first country in the world to reduce the number of working days per week to less than five. The new decision will facilitate financial dealings with the rest of the world on Saturdays and Sundays. It will create stronger business relationships and opportunities for thousands of multinational companies headquartered in the UAE. Meanwhile, officials said the department’s smart-channels should be used for visa-related GDRFA services. The service can be accessed through the website or the mobile application -dubai. Currently, almost all the department’s visa services are available on the Smart channel. But people outside the UAE should call 0097143139999.
