Dubai: General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has organized ‘Entrepreneurship Makers Forum’. More than 150 Emirati entrepreneurs participated in the forum aimed at giving more impetus to the business sector of mutual exchange of ideas. The event was held at Dubai Al Khawaneej Majlis.
Addressing the audience, Chief Lt. Gen. Mohammed Ahmad Al Marri said that GDRFA will formulate specific plans to further boost Dubai’s diverse commercial sectors and will include this function in its annual programs based on the recommendations of the forum participants. Al Marri added that GDRFA has supported more than 600 projects in the last 18 months and given them the opportunity to showcase their initiatives at government exhibitions.

The main challenges faced by young entrepreneurs at the beginning of their careers were explained in the event. Officials were requested on the occasion to accept their suggestions and support their projects. They interacted in the forum to evaluate proposed business projects and provide continuous support to ensure their growth. Entrepreneurs proposed at the event to create an electronic platform under the umbrella of the Dubai government. It is suggested that through this platform there will be more possibility for their projects to be accepted and more opportunity for marketing of their products. The forum was attended by senior officials including Dubai GDRFA Deputy Chief Major General Obaid Bin Surur and heads of various government departments.
