GEMS International Academy in Dubai announced the start of its partnership with the AIS Athletics Academy to launch the first center of excellence in the UAE dedicated to track and field, with the aim of supporting athletes from school students and beyond, by providing the best facilities, guidance, training and scholarships.
Through this partnership, the two parties will be committed to enhancing and developing the capabilities of student athletes, and supporting efforts to develop athletics in the UAE, especially track and field.
The Center of Excellence aims to help talented and distinguished students and those with athletic abilities to develop their skills and abilities and secure the means of excellence for them. This will be achieved by creating a path that identifies talented and outstanding athletes with an investment in their training by the best experts over several years.
GEMS Academy and AIS are liaising with the Athletics Federation to build a network that will support the growth of athletics across the Emirates. From 27 to 28 May, GEMS World Academy – Dubai will host the UAE track and field final in cooperation with AIS Academy. This will be the first time that a national competition of this scale will be held in a school, with more than 500 students competing.
