New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the General Civil Code will be brought after the completion of democratic discussions and consultations.
Special status for Kashmir will be abolished. A Ram temple will be built in Ayodhya. The BJP had made three big promises to bring in a common civil law. According to this, the special status of Kashmir was canceled in 2019. In 2019, the Supreme Court granted permission to build a Ram temple in Ayodhya. In 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the construction of a huge Ram temple there.
While both promises have been fulfilled, the BJP government ruling at the center is showing seriousness to implement the General Civil Code.
Regarding this matter, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in Delhi yesterday: The Constitution of India prescribes a common civil law. India, a secular country, should have no religious laws. The law passed by the Parliament and the Legislative Assembly should be common to all.
No other party except BJP is in favor of Universal Civil Code. Therefore, there is a need to hold constructive discussions and consultations in a democratic manner. General Civil Code will be brought after completion of discussion and consultation.
India has reached a high position after overcoming various imbalances. Now we are celebrating 75th Independence Day. This is no time to look back. Look ahead and move forward exponentially on the path of development. We are going to celebrate 100th Independence Day in next 25 years. Then India will become the biggest power in the world.
Various achievements have been made during the 8-year rule of the ruling BJP government at the centre. Corruption has been eradicated. The country is on the path of development. There is favorable environment for investment. Terrorism has been curbed and peace has been established. India is emerging as not only the world’s investment market but also the world’s manufacturing hub.
According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream plan, India will become a developed country by the year 2047. India has progressed to become the 5th largest country in the international economy. The International Monetary Fund has predicted that India’s economy will grow rapidly while the global economy remains stagnant. Amit Shah spoke thus.
