The technical staff of the Olympic football team announced on the official page of the UAE Football Association on the “X” platform that a new list for the team has been selected, which includes 34 players, in preparation for an internal gathering in the city of Al Ain, starting next Monday and continuing until the 11th of this month, in preparation for the upcoming matches.
The upcoming gathering, led by European and Guyanese coach Marcelo Broli, is the first gathering of the Olympic team following the recent failure that accompanied its participation in the 2024 AFC U-23 Cup, which was held in Doha, in which the team exited its competition early without any points and occupied last place in its group after losing in Three matches against the teams of South Korea, Japan and China.
The new list included the players: Hamad Al-Muqbali, Saeed Al-Muqadami, Muhammad Abdullah, Marzouq Al-Badawi, Mubarak Bani Zama, Mansour Al-Menhali, Ahmed Al-Balushi, Khamis Al-Mansouri, Ahmed Mal Allah, Ali Taher, Zayed Khamis, Abdullah Khaled, Abdullah Khairy, Ali Karim, Muhammad Al-Yamahi, Salem Al-Hammadi, Matar Al-Shamsi, Saif Al-Menhali, Muhammad Al-Khoury, and Abdullah. Ahmed and Mansour Al-Badwawi, Muhammad Al-Wafi, Ali Abdul Aziz, Dhari Fahd, Muhammad Al-Hammadi, Khalifa Khamis, Rabih Al-Balushi, Badr Al-Suwaidi, Saif Salem, Abdullah Al-Junaibi, Youssef Abdo, Ali Al-Maamari, Mayed Al-Kass, and Mansour Saeed.
The list witnessed some changes, including the inclusion of some faces and the exclusion of some elements who participated with the team in the last Asian Cup. Some elements were also promoted to the first team, such as Shabab Al-Ahly players Mohammed Youssef Ateeq and Mohammed Jumaa Al-Mansouri. The list also witnessed the return of first team players Sultan Adel, Badr Nasser and Hareb Abdel. Allah, Zayed Sultan, Abdullah Hamad Al-Menhali and Khaled Tawhid joined the first team again.
